Nirmal Art & Toys – 400 Years of Telangana’s Heritage

Nirmal toys are handmade by Nakashilu artisans, whose families have carried this craft for over 400 years. They use local Poniki wood and natural colors to make beautiful toys, paintings, and furniture inspired by Telangana’s birds, nature, and culture.

All products are made by members of the Nirmal Toys and Arts Industrial Co-operative Society, a government-supported group that keeps this tradition alive. When you buy from here, you buy directly from the artisans, supporting their livelihood and preserving the craft.

This art was started in the 17th century by King Nimmanayudu, who brought and encouraged these artisans to Nirmal. Under his patronage, the craft grew and flourished, supported later by the Nizam of Hyderabad.
